My last work for Petaloo

I have been on the Petaloo designteam for several years, but now it's time for me to move on. I have loved every minute on this amazing DT, and would like to thank Cheryl for all the generosity and kindness you've shown. I will miss you!

Here are my last Petaloo projects - a canvas and a card, using purple and lavender Botanica flowers, and forget-me-nots:

Believe ~ Dusty Attic

This layout is made after Dusty Attic's August sketch. I have used one of the new title chippies (loooove these!) from Word Pack #4 (DA1077) and a Decorative Frame #2 (DA0208). I have painted both pieces with three shades of green Dusty in Color: Pesto, Crushed Olive and Forrest. I have then given the chippies a coat of Clear Gloss Varnish.

I have also used a Mini Hinge (DA1006). This piece I just painted white and then with Clear Gloss Varnish.

A couple of close ups:

I have used Dusty in Blooms, Vintage Rose (DA0803) together with flowers from Petaloo. I just love the purple with the fresh green!

And here is the sketch for August!

Love canvas ~ with tutorial ~ Donna Salazar

Hi again! Do you remember the canvas I made last time? You can find the blog post HERE. Well, I loved making that canvas so much, I decided to make another one to go with the first. This will be the perfect present for someone!

I have also made a step-by-step tutorial on how I made this canvas, so that you easily can make your own.

Here's the second canvas. The first one had a touch of pink, this one has a touch of blue:

And here is the step-by-step:

Donna Salazar products used: Mix'd Media Stax 2 (script paper and crepe paper in small pieces), Love stencil, Embossing powder in colors Jasmine and Peridot.

Other products used: flowers, resin piece, cheesecloth, gesso and texture paste

Step 1: Paint the canvas using a sponge, just a thin layer.

Step 2: Arrange small pieces of paper from the Mix'd Media Stax 2 and a piece of cheesecloth on top.

Step 3: Paint with gesso to "glue" the pieces to the canvas. Don't paint all over, you want some of the script paper to show.

Step 4: Use the heart from the "Love" stencil with texture paste.

Step 5: Add some more gesso, using a sponge, but this time a thicker layer and only on a couple of spots. I have put some on top, bottom and the sides of the canvas. Then, before the paint dries, add some Embossing Powder, color Jasmine, where you used the gesso. Use a heat gun to dry. You will see that the texture paste will "rise" too, making the heart even more beautiful!

Here's a close-up of the fantastic texture:

Step 6: Arrange the resin piece and the flowers. Paint the flowers with gesso on the edges.

Step 7: Add some Emboss Gloss on about the same spots where you used the Jasmine powder, and then add some Peridot powder. Heat with heatgun.

Here's what my finished canvas looks like!

Now some close-ups of the finished canvas:

And of course I want to show you the two canvases together:

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you've enjoyed!

Petaloo projects

Today I am sharing a couple of projects that I recently made for Petaloo - one card and one canvas.

First, the canvas. I have used papers and chipboard from Quick Quotes, the Serendipity collection,  together with Petaloo Burlap flowers and Botanica Berry clusters.

Then, a card using the same papers and flowers as above, but with chipboard from Dusty Attic.

The corrugated board is from Donna Salazar Designs. Perfect as a base!

I just love seashells and Petaloo carries bags of seashells - perfect! I have painted them, and the flowers, with some white gesso and then added different mists in blue shades.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Vintage Memories ~ Dusty Attic

Today I have a canvas to share, featuring some of my fave Dusty Attic pieces - the large Window with Shutters (DA0946) and the Vine Border (0459). I have used the June sketch, made by Nadia Cannizzo:

For the background I have glued ripped pieces of patterned paper, used a stencil (Donna Salazar's and Want2Scraps brick stencil), and misted with gold and green mists.

The Window (without the shutters) I painted white, inked a bit with gray ink and then embossed with white Mix'd Media Embossing powder.

I divided the Vine Border into three pieces, painted them white and then embossed the leaves with Mix'd Media embossing powder, color Leather.

Lots and lots of beautiful Petaloo flowers!

The title Vintage Memories (DA0871) I kept raw :)

Thank you for stopping by today!

Winter fun ~ Dusty Attic

Hi there! It's summer here in Sweden, but yet I have a winter layout to share :).

I have used the smaller of the Flourish Frame Set (DA1035) and divided it into four pieces. I painted them white and distressed them a bit. I then used two pieces under the photo, and two in opposite corners.

I have also used the Birds on a Branch #3 (DA1003). I have painted it white and then I painted the leaves with Dusty in Color Denim (DA0914) and with Clear Gloss Varnish (DA0901). I then misted the chippie with blue mist.

A close-up of the Birds on a Branch #3:

The butterflies are from Reneabouquets.

Papers are from Maja Design, Vintage Autumn Basics.

I also painted a couple of leaves from Spider Chrysanthemum (DA1043) white and tucked them under a Petaloo flower:

The alpha is a mix of Mini ABC Set Lower (DA0862) and Upper (DA0861):
