Swirlydoos October kit - second reveal!

Hi everybody! Today I'm sharing two more layouts with the totally amazing October kit from Swirlydoos - Treasured Yesterdays. This kit has so many pretty embellies and papers in it - I could create forever!

The first page I'm showing you is a playful, fun one. I decided to use a banner as my main design, and used the beautiful Prima Epiphany papers both for the background and smaller pieces beneath my photos. I have then decorated with flowers from the main kit and flower add on, and the wood Icons and stick pins from the main kit.

The #lifeisgood chipboard piece is from Dusty Attic.

A couple of close-ups for you:

I added small pieces of cheese-cloth under the photos, distressed the paper pieces and also painted with some white gesso, to get texture and dimension.

My second layout today is a circular one. I love making layouts in different shapes. I have used a plate as a template, and cut two papers (Prima Epiphany collection) with a regular pair of scissors, and one paper using a decorative scissors. This way I get a shabby, distressed look, and a nice frame on my page.

I have decorated with flowers from the main kit and flower add on, and also a couple of embellies from the main kit (wood icon and stick pin from Prima's Epiphany Collection). Under the photo I have layered a few of the journaling cards from the main kit (distressed the edges of course!).

The vintage frame is from Dusty Attic.

Here's my first layout, with a pic of my daughter. I just fell in love with the pink paper from Blue Fern Studios, and the black accents (from Prima and Blue Fern Studios chipboard swirls painted black) were just perfect for this layout!

Here are a couple of close-ups for you:

The Burlap flowers from Petaloo, in color Fuschia, can be found in the Swirlydoos shop!

My next layout is made after the October sketch. I have made a mixed media page here, using strips of paper from the main kit, gesso, texture paste, mists and then lace, also from the main kit. Some of the flowers are from the flower add-on.

But first, the October sketch:

My last layout for todays reveal is a colorful one! I have played with texture paste here too, and also pan pastels in colors to match the beautiful flowers from the main kit and flower add-on. The chipboard swirls from Blue Fern Studios was painted with white gesso, misted with peach mist and then glossed with clear gloss varnish. I also did a bit of fussy cutting on the clock and flowers, adding it to another of the papers from Blue Fern Studios.

Dream Garden ~ Dusty Attic

Hi!

I would love to live at our summer house all year around. We have a lake there, and it really is a dream garden!

I have used the Window with Shutters small (DA0792), painted it with white gesso, misted it with green mist and then inked with brown ink here and there to get a worn look. I have opened up the windows and glued them with hot glue to make them stick fast.

I have also used the Vine Border (DA0459), which I painted with white gesso, some green mist and then embossed with Mix'd Media Inx Embossing powder, color leather.

Here are some close-ups for you:

Memory Lane ~ Dusty Attic

Hi there! Today I'm sharing a layout that I made after Dusty Attic's October sketch. I have used one of my fav chippies for this page - the Decorative Scroll #1. It now comes with a mini chippie too, which I love since it is so adorable!

Here is the October sketch:

I have painted the scroll with white gesso and before gluing the pieces together, I whiped off some of the paint to get a shabbier look.

Here are a few close-ups:

Just look at that mini scroll! Cute, isn't it?!

I let all of the flowers follow the shape of the scroll.

The scroll is peeking out here and there:
