Believe ~ Dusty Attic

This layout is made after Dusty Attic's August sketch. I have used one of the new title chippies (loooove these!) from Word Pack #4 (DA1077) and a Decorative Frame #2 (DA0208). I have painted both pieces with three shades of green Dusty in Color: Pesto, Crushed Olive and Forrest. I have then given the chippies a coat of Clear Gloss Varnish.

I have also used a Mini Hinge (DA1006). This piece I just painted white and then with Clear Gloss Varnish.

A couple of close ups:

I have used Dusty in Blooms, Vintage Rose (DA0803) together with flowers from Petaloo. I just love the purple with the fresh green!

And here is the sketch for August!

Snowday ~ Donna Salazar

Hi everybody! The layout I have to share today is a winter layout, even though we are in the middle of summer here in Sweden. It's been so hot lately, the only way I could think of to cool down, was to scrap about winter!

This is my last work for Donna Salazar, it is time for me to move on. I have had an amazing time on this team and it was a dream come true when I was asked to join! Donna's products are totally awesome to work with!

Back to my layout. I have worked with different papers from GCD Studios and Donna's, all in blue shades. I cut them using a diecut paper as a template, distressed the edges and then painted the edges with white gesso. I didn't do any more background work, all the paint and mist you see was added later in the process.

Behind the photo I have used Spellbinders and Donna's Shadow Flowers dies (I cut four pieces of one of the dies, and glued them on the back of the photo, to create a frame).

I have also used Spellbinders and Donna's Wonderful Wings dies to make the beautiful butterflies. I have sprinkled some Twinkle dust glitter, Sugar Shimmer, on these beauties.

The alpha is from GCD Studios and Donna's Family Jeans collection.

After adding flowers, vines and the butterflies, I painted everything lightly with some white gesso. I then dripped some Smoochspritz, color Evergreen, here and there. The purple flower was added last, so no paint or mist on that one.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the sweet comments you have given me here and on Donna's facebook page.

xoxo

Happy Days ~ Dusty Attic

Hi everybody! Today I have a layout to share, using a couple of chippies from the latest Dusty Attic release - another fabulous release!!

The photos on this page are from the lake at our summer house, one of my favorite places in this world, and we always have a great time when we go there. The Hashtag saying "Happy days" (DA1076) was just perfect for these photos! I have simply inked the chippie with red/brown ink.

Under the flowers and vines, I have used a piece of Lavender (DA1001) and Reeds (DA1002), painted white. I have tied a piece of string in the bottom, keeping the pieces together. On top, in the bottom, I have put an Elegant Swirl #2 (DA1098), inked with red/brown ink and then misted with gold mist.

I have also used a little Page Pebble #6 "Just another day in paradise" (DA1111), misted with gold glimmer mist. Love these pebbles, you can use them just about everywhere!

Thank you for stopping by today!

Beautiful card ~ Donna Salazar

Hi! I have a shabby card to share with you today, using papers from GCD Studios and Donna's Natural Beauty and Family Jeans collection. I just adore the wood paper - the perfect background for shabby projects!

I have used both the 6x6 paper pad from the Natural Beauty collection and a piece of the 12x12 paper "Family Cards B" from the Family Jeans collection. I have distressed the edges and also painted them with white gesso. I then cut pieces of the 6x6 paper Natural Beauty Cards A and glued a couple on top of each other, with small pieces of cheesecloth here and there. The butterflies are cut from the same paper and I just painted the edges with white gesso and attached a couple of bling stones in the middle.

Behind the butterflies I have corrugated swirls from Want2Scrap and Donna's, I painted them with some gesso and then put on some Fairydust glitter - nice and sparkly!

Some close-ups for you:

Love canvas ~ with tutorial ~ Donna Salazar

Hi again! Do you remember the canvas I made last time? You can find the blog post HERE. Well, I loved making that canvas so much, I decided to make another one to go with the first. This will be the perfect present for someone!

I have also made a step-by-step tutorial on how I made this canvas, so that you easily can make your own.

Here's the second canvas. The first one had a touch of pink, this one has a touch of blue:

And here is the step-by-step:

Donna Salazar products used: Mix'd Media Stax 2 (script paper and crepe paper in small pieces), Love stencil, Embossing powder in colors Jasmine and Peridot.

Other products used: flowers, resin piece, cheesecloth, gesso and texture paste

Step 1: Paint the canvas using a sponge, just a thin layer.

Step 2: Arrange small pieces of paper from the Mix'd Media Stax 2 and a piece of cheesecloth on top.

Step 3: Paint with gesso to "glue" the pieces to the canvas. Don't paint all over, you want some of the script paper to show.

Step 4: Use the heart from the "Love" stencil with texture paste.

Step 5: Add some more gesso, using a sponge, but this time a thicker layer and only on a couple of spots. I have put some on top, bottom and the sides of the canvas. Then, before the paint dries, add some Embossing Powder, color Jasmine, where you used the gesso. Use a heat gun to dry. You will see that the texture paste will "rise" too, making the heart even more beautiful!

Here's a close-up of the fantastic texture:

Step 6: Arrange the resin piece and the flowers. Paint the flowers with gesso on the edges.

Step 7: Add some Emboss Gloss on about the same spots where you used the Jasmine powder, and then add some Peridot powder. Heat with heatgun.

Here's what my finished canvas looks like!

Now some close-ups of the finished canvas:

And of course I want to show you the two canvases together:

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you've enjoyed!

Delight ~ Dusty Attic

Hi! Today I have a layout to share, with a photo of my ds by the lake at our summer house a couple of years ago. The title "Deligh" really suited this photo :)

I have layered lots of papers, flowers and Dusty Attic chipboard here. Two corner pieces, Corner Scroll #4 (DA0886) and Baroque Frame set (DA0541), was used here. I have painted all the chippies with white gesso.

The Dusty Attic words and titles are fabulous to work with! There are so many to choose from!

The Corner Scroll is "resting" on some flowers and helps framing the photo:

Love Canvas ~ Donna Salazar

Hi! I have another canvas to share today, and I decided to make it pretty simple. I have played with the Mix'd Media Stax 2 on this one, a stencil and different embossing powders from Mix'd Media Inx on this piece.

I have ripped pieces of different papers in the Mix'd Media Stax 2 and glued them onto the canvas. I have also put a piece of cheesecloth on there, and then painted with white gesso. On several spots I have used Mix'd Media Inx Embossing Powder, in the colors Jasmine and Chiffon. For a title I have used Want2Scraps and Donna's Love stencil with texture paste.

Since I wanted to keep this canvas simple, and to show off the textured background, I have only decorated with a resin piece and some flowers.

Here are some more pics for you:
